Four Generations Of Industry Expertise
Our family’s journey in diamonds and jewellery began with Manilal Rikhavchand Kothari, who laid the foundation of the business. The generations that followed continued to build on this knowledge, with our grandfather, Mr. Prasanbhai Jhaveri, recognised as a pioneer in the diamond industry and a major influence on our understanding of quality, trust and craftsmanship.
Today, Nicole and Akash represent the fourth generation, carrying these learnings forward through PAN GEMS. Their focus is on thoughtful product development from the first idea, rigorous quality control throughout production, exceptional jewellery finishing and the careful selection of diamonds and gemstones.
Nicole Manilal
Head of Jewellery Manufacturing & Product Development, PAN GEMS
Nicole works closely with jewellery retailers, brands, designers, and corporate clients to develop products from the initial brief through to finished production. She helps translate ideas, sketches, reference images, and collection concepts into commercially viable jewellery while maintaining the intended design, quality, and brand identity.
Her involvement spans product development, design refinement, material selection, sampling, manufacturing coordination, and final quality control. With a strong eye for proportion, wearability, detailing, and finish, Nicole ensures that every piece is thoughtfully developed and production-ready.
Her approach is collaborative and detail-focused, helping clients create jewellery that meets both their creative vision and business requirements.
Akash Manilal
Head of Diamonds, PAN GEMS
With generations of diamond knowledge and strong experience in sourcing, grading, and quality assessment, he helps clients identify stones that offer the right balance of quality, consistency, suitability, and commercial value. His understanding of jewellery manufacturing also allows him to assess diamonds in the context of the final product, not only by certificate specifications.
From individual certified stones and matching pairs to layouts, parcels, and repeat supply, Akash focuses on reliable sourcing, transparent communication, and rigorous quality checks. He also supports select gemstone requirements where needed for projects.
